Manor Wood School offers a therapeutic, education-focused approach supported by a dedicated staff team committed to meeting the needs of every individual. Our pastoral provision includes purposeful breakout spaces, sensory areas and individual learning environments designed to support regulation, engagement and personalised learning.
To enhance the quality of education we provide, we also work closely with a clinical team who offer specialist support and guidance to the school community. This ensures that our approach is holistic, consistent and informed by clinical expertise, with therapeutic principles embedded throughout the school day.
Clinical support may include:
- Speech and Language Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Counselling / Psychotherapy
- Additional therapeutic interventions, as required
Our clinical team works in partnership with pupils and their parents or carers to develop tailored support plans. These plans are integrated into daily school life, helping pupils to build on their strengths, develop resilience and successfully engage with learning.
We recognise that behaviour is a form of communication. All staff work collaboratively to support the healthy physical, social and emotional development of each pupil, responding to need with understanding, consistency and care.
Our holistic, safe and nurturing environment provides pupils with the opportunity to grow in confidence, take on leadership roles and develop independence. We encourage positive risk-taking, perseverance and learning from mistakes, within a setting that reduces some of the social pressures our young people often face.
